This is done with the IIS Guest Account which isn’t added by default in the Security tab. To enable access for the IIS Guest Account, do the following:</p> <ol> <li>Right-click on /app/tmp</li> <li>Select <strong>Properties</strong> and then the <strong>Security</strong> tab</li> <li>Click <strong>Edit</strong> and then <strong>Add</strong> in the <em>Permissions for tmp</em> dialog</li> <li>In the text box, enter <strong>IUSR</strong> and click <strong>OK</strong> </li> <li>Now select <strong>IUSR</strong> in the list and check the <strong>Full control</strong> check box</li> <li>Click <strong>OK</strong> to return to the <em>Properties</em> dialog</li> <li>Click <strong>Advanced</strong> </li> <li>Select <strong>IUSR</strong> in the list and click <strong>Edit</strong> </li> <li>Check the <strong>Replace all existing inheritable permissions on all descendants with inheritable permissions from this object</strong> box and click <strong>OK</strong> in all dialogs</li> </ol> <p>You shouldn’t get any permission errors now, but I did get one about Cake being unable to write session data.
